Third Time, 7/11/14

Was a little sore this morning but after walking around the block I was ready.  I was able to paddle all the way to dad's house and turn around and paddle back.  It wasn't until the return trip that my feet and legs started to cramp.  Still think it is due to nerves and not relaxing the muscles.  It was about a half mile round trip.  Very cool.  Getting more confident every time I go out.  Loving my board and my experiences with it.

Saw some awesome fish, very close to shore.  Did not think I would see that many big ones so close but very cool.

Second Time Out - July 10, 2014

It has been about 4 weeks since my first outing.  The family has been struggling with loss this past June.  So today was a good day to try again.  I was very wobbly but I did not fall in.  I paddled from our house to the Meloche dock and turned around.  I was only going to paddle back but was feeling adventurous.  I went past our house and continued on past the next neighbor's house and ended up going about 1,040 feet round trip.  Not bad for the first "BIG" trip.  My legs hurt and my right foot cramped but I think it was the way I was standing and the stiffness in my stance.

Next time it will be farther.

First Time Out - June 2014

OK, so I made Joe watch since he gave her to me.  I think he laughed so hard he peed himself.  :)

I knelt for a while and got used to the paddle and the board and just went back and forth between the Meloche's and our house.  And then I decided to try to stand.  The first time I stood up it was a quick "Oh BOY!" and right back down on my knees.  This brought Joe to tears.

The second time I tried to stand I was in the water in about 30 seconds.  The time it took for me to look at my feet - I know rookie mistake.  The third try was more successful.  If I was a bull rider it would have been a blue ribbon because I stayed on, paddled out and turned, paddled more and turned again and paddled back to point A.  It was at least a 3 minute ride.

So here she is!!  I haven't named her yet.
